GOV.OGBONNA NWIFURU AS WORKERS FRIENDLY GOVERNOR

There is no doubt that governor Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi state has become the most friendly workers governor in Nigeria. 
   This is because of the bold steps so far taken towards ensuring the welfare of civil servants in the state,which has clearly demonstrated the obvious fact that civil service is the backbone of every government,especially in the  implementation of government policies and programmes.
  Not only the civil service,other sectors of the economy in Ebonyi state has continued to enjoy robust boosts and attentions.
  Of a truth,this is not the time to play political gimmicks. This is not the time to becloud the state workforce with all manners of  threats and intimidations aimed at whittlying down efforts of Nigeria labour union to fight for the rights of workers. 
  Again,this is not the time to sing praises on the lips in order to belong,just,like the saying goes,"if you cannot beat them,you follow them.
   Yes,this is the time to reap good governance and deep love for the people,just like what the word of God says,"when the righteous is on the throne,the people rejoice.
  Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru since assumption of office as the 4th executive governor of Ebonyi state, with his all encompassing Party manifesto, titled,"the people's Charter of needs",made it abundantly clear that his administration will ensure workers welfare by providing employment opportunities,ensuring regular promotion and prompt payment of salaries,pension and gratuities,provision of incentives to motivate workers,training and retraining of the state workforce for improved service delivery among other promises. 
  As if that was not enough,governor Ogbonna Nwifuru during one of the state functions held recently at governor's conference hall,government house,Abakaliki, poured out his heart over the plight of workers in the state.
  He said,and I quote,"I feel concerned that Ebonyi Civil servants are paid N30, 000 which translates to N1000 a day for a man with dependants,apart from feeding the family, he pays for rents, school fees and medical bills from there.
"Before I became Governor, I had two companies and the least anybody working for me was paid is N50, 000 and that was even the gateman.
  "If you pay your worker very well, you will have the boldness to quarrel him if he is not living up to expectations,"onquote.
  This heart touching remarks from the number one citizen of the state,over the plight of workers could only come from a God given leader that have the interest and heartbeat of the masses at heart.
  Just few days ago,during the state executive council meeting,held at EXCO chambers,new government house,Abakaliki,governor Ogbonna Nwifuru,the chairman of the state executive council meeting,announced the recruitment of 1,454 workers to fill the existing vacancies in various ministries and parastatals,and in addition announced the increment of workers salaries by N10,000 across board,to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal in Nigeria. 
   By this,It is quite on record that Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru is one of the few governors in Nigeria that have risen to rescue workers in the face of the dwindling and biting economy,occasioned by the insensitivity of some leaders in the country. 
  Recall that Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru had after  assumption of office,directed the recruitment of health personnel's to make the 13 general hospitals and rural health centres across the state more functional by offering quality health care service to the people. 
  As governor Ogbonna Nwifuru continues to make Ebonyi state a haven for purposeful and people oriented leadership,there is need for all and sundry to rally round the administration of governor NWIFURU as this will spur him to continue the good works he is doing. 
   Therefore,it is incumbent on civil servants in Ebonyi state,to reciprocate the kind gesture of His Excellency,Rt.Hon.Ogbonna Nwifuru,by being much dedicated and committed to their duties. They should do that by reporting work early,avoid absenteeism and obeying civil service rules.
  They should not allow themselves to be used by desperate politicians to sabotage the good efforts of the present administration,led by Rt.Hon.Ogbonna Nwifuru. 
 Again,they should shun frauds in all ramifications to justify the magnanimity of His Excellency,towards repositioning the civil service in the state. 
   All in all,the people of Ebonyi state should continue to give their unflinching supports to the present administration, because,Ebonyi people have not had it so good. 
   The truth is that Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru is totally poised to make Ebonyi state great.

EKA-AWOKE COMMUNITY QUALIFIES FOR WORLD BANK ASSISTED PROJECTS

By Ewa Nworie Eka-Awoke community in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state was among the 54 communities qualified for CSDA support under the NG-CARES programme,a world Bank Assisted project.    Members of the CSDA committee from Eka-Awoke,elected to carry out the implementation of their community project,joined colleagues from other communities to receive intensive training on how to handle the projects. The training which took place at Re-maretona hotel Andsuite,Abakaliki,was meant to empower the committees of benefiting communities with the prerequisite knowledge on how to carry out the world Bank Assited projects in their various communities in line with the world Bank approved standard The training which was seen as quite impactful and result oriented,as members of the committees were seen answering questions correctly from the resource persons,kept the committees abreast of what they should know about the management of Agency's fund.

NDUFU IKWO DC COORDINATOR,DR.EJEM CHARGES NEW MGT CTTEE MEMBERS TO WORK HARD
