GOV UMAHI BAGS THE HIGHEST HONOUR OF GREAT GRAND COMMANDER,EBONYI HALL OF FAME

A storey building of six flats located at No. 29, Udensi Street in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State, on Friday was gutted by fire. One of the victims, Okoro Mkpuma, a father of nine children and a staff of Ikwo College of Education, blamed the fire on a power surge. Narrating his ordeal, Mkpuma, who hails from Ohaozara LGA, said that all his valued documents and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed by the fire. According to him: “I was on my way when they called me that fire is raging in our building, and on reaching and I saw that all the building was on fire. There is no way we can sleep now. The whole building was razed completely. “The problem was that there was an amount of money my wife kept inside the room. The money was given to her by somebody to keep. Over 300 Ballot Boxes Destroyed As Unknown Gunmen Burn Another Office Of INEC In Ebonyi

Fire has reportedly gutted the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. The office was set ablaze by unknown gunmen. INEC disclosed this on Sunday in a statement signed by Festus Okoye, its national commissioner, information and voter education. According to the statement, Onyeka Pauline Ugochi, the resident electoral commissioner for Ebonyi state, reported that the attack happened at 10.00 am on Sunday. Okoye said although no casualties were reported, 340 ballot boxes, 130 voting cubicles, 14 electric generators and others were destroyed. He added that the incident has been reported to the  Nigeria Police and other security agencies for investigation and further action. The incident comes less than three months before the 2023 general elections. Limited and its partners, Mauritz Walton Nig Ltd, which claimed that they got Court order to garnish the accounts of Ebonyi State Government,describing the claim as vaulting ambitions of greedy people who are on fruitless Enterprise and wild goose chase,looking undeservedly for fund meant for the development of Ebonyi state. Institute trains Ebonyi farmers on soil resources management

The Nigerian Institute of Soil Sciences on has trained Ebonyi farmers and agricultural extension agents on the protection and management of soil resources. Prof. James Nwite, the institute's Representative in Ebonyi, said during the training in Abakaliki that it was inaugural in the state and was authorised by its zonal and national offices. Nwite said that the training aimed at having experts train farmers, extension agents and other agricultural production stakeholders, on soil resources protection and management. "The trainees are expected to utilise the knowledge gained from the training to improve their agricultural production systems for higher productivity. "This will ultimately ensure food security in the state and country under sustainable environment," He noted that there was a nexus between concepts of soil protection and management, good agricultural practices and sustainable soil management. Gov. Umahi approves Christmas bonus for civil servants

  The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Nweze Umahi has directed that all civil servants in the State be paid their November and December salaries together before December 10, 2022. The Governor also directed that all Civil Servants should be paid a bonus salary of Fifteen Thousand Naira each, in addition to their two months salary paid together. The information is contained in a statement from Accountant General of the State, Emeka Nwankwo, made available to the office of the SA on Media and Strategy, Saturday. The Governor noted that the gesture was to give Civil servants enough time and resources to plan ahead of the Christmas and New year celebrations.
