Ebonyi: CIVIL SERVANTS TO ENJOY REGULAR PROMOTIONS - NWIFURU

Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi state has approved regular promotion of civil servants in the state.
  Nwifuru gave the approval during a courtesy visit by the  Nigeria Union of local government employees (NULGE),Ebonyi chapter,in his office,new government house,Abakaliki.
   The governor who appreciated NULGE for their support during the electioneering  campaign and show of understanding on the ongoing verification exercise of the local government staff,ordered by the state government,directed the Head of service to liaise with the chairman,local government service commission to ensure that workers of the local governments enjoy regular promotion,noting that promotion is one of the incentives civil servants should get when they move from one grade level to another.
   "Head of service should talk to local government civil service commission to ensure that those who suppose to be promoted are promoted.
 "This is one of the incentives you get as a civil servant when you move from one grade level to another grade level". 
   Governor Nwifuru assured the NULGE leadership that his government will continue to support them,just as he encourage the local government civil service commission to organise their principal officers so as to make them more functional.
Nwifuru directed the local government service commission to ensure the training and retraining of staff to make the local government system more productive.
   Governor Nwifuru while granting the request of NULGE on procurement of vehicle,however, promised to donate seater bus to the union to enhance their smooth operations. 
   He noted that the third tier of government was very strategic,in the development of the state.
   "I commend you for showing good understanding  with the state government in the ongoing verification of staff across the local government areas,and be assured of regular promotion of civil servants. I have directed that the verification committee should be handy with cheques to pay immediately,those that have been cleared".
  The president,NULGE,Ebonyi state chapter,comrade,Stanley,Ewah,while announcing the intention of NULGE to bestow governor Nwifuru the Grand patron of their Association(NULGE),announced the conferment of OHAMADIKE 1 of NULGE on the state governor.
  Comrade Ewah had earlier congratulated governor Nwifuru on his victory and successful inauguration as the fourth(4) executive governor of Ebonyi state.

EKA-AWOKE COMMUNITY QUALIFIES FOR WORLD BANK ASSISTED PROJECTS

By Ewa Nworie Eka-Awoke community in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state was among the 54 communities qualified for CSDA support under the NG-CARES programme,a world Bank Assisted project.    Members of the CSDA committee from Eka-Awoke,elected to carry out the implementation of their community project,joined colleagues from other communities to receive intensive training on how to handle the projects. The training which took place at Re-maretona hotel Andsuite,Abakaliki,was meant to empower the committees of benefiting communities with the prerequisite knowledge on how to carry out the world Bank Assited projects in their various communities in line with the world Bank approved standard The training which was seen as quite impactful and result oriented,as members of the committees were seen answering questions correctly from the resource persons,kept the committees abreast of what they should know about the management of Agency's fund.

NDUFU IKWO DC COORDINATOR,DR.EJEM CHARGES NEW MGT CTTEE MEMBERS TO WORK HARD
