GOVERNOR UMAHI BAGS GRAND SERVICE STAR AWARD FROM RIVER STATE GOVT

Governor David  Umahi of Ebonyi state has been conferred with the Grand Service Star award by the Rivers State Government.

 Governor Nyesom Wike  who conferred the honours on Governor Umahi alongside other Distinguished Nigerians during the Rivers State Honours Award 2022 held Saturday,described governor David Umahi as an exceptional leader who have given his best to Ebonyi state and Nigeria at large.

The Beneficiaries of the Honours Award were drawn from serving and former Governors,Lawyers, people from the business Class,the Traditional Institution,the Religious Class,the academics among others.

Conferring the award, Governor Nyesom Wike said the event was put together to appreciate Nigerians who have in one way or the other contributed to the growth and development of Rivers State.
He clarified that the Honours Award is without borders in terms of ethnic origin and political party affiliation aimed at promoting the unity of Nigeria.

Earlier in his Opening remark, the Chairman, Rivers State Honours Award,  Chief Ferdinand Alabrabra, said the Honours Award which was established in 2017 is designed to reward excellence in public service.

River State cultural troops,including,the Nnu troop of Ebonyi State Council for Arts and Culture was handy to thrill the audience at the event.

Several other Nigerians received various categories of Honours Award during the colourful ceremony held at the banquet hall of the Rivers State Government House.

EKA-AWOKE COMMUNITY QUALIFIES FOR WORLD BANK ASSISTED PROJECTS

By Ewa Nworie Eka-Awoke community in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state was among the 54 communities qualified for CSDA support under the NG-CARES programme,a world Bank Assisted project.    Members of the CSDA committee from Eka-Awoke,elected to carry out the implementation of their community project,joined colleagues from other communities to receive intensive training on how to handle the projects. The training which took place at Re-maretona hotel Andsuite,Abakaliki,was meant to empower the committees of benefiting communities with the prerequisite knowledge on how to carry out the world Bank Assited projects in their various communities in line with the world Bank approved standard The training which was seen as quite impactful and result oriented,as members of the committees were seen answering questions correctly from the resource persons,kept the committees abreast of what they should know about the management of Agency's fund.

NDUFU IKWO DC COORDINATOR,DR.EJEM CHARGES NEW MGT CTTEE MEMBERS TO WORK HARD
