Ebonyi Police command to get more logistics to fight crime -IGP

The Inspector General of Police (IGP),Usman Alkali Baba has promised to provide more logistics to Ebonyi state Police command to fight crime in the state.
     The IGP  made the promise while interacting with officers and men  of the police force,at Police headquarters Abakaliki.
    Mr Alkali who was in Abakaliki to inaugurate the police barracks Internal roads,constructed by governor David Umahi,for officers and men of the police force,and in addition receive merit Award by the Ebonyi state government,commended governor David Umahi for his giant stride in the state,saying,when he left Ebonyi state as deputy commissioner of police in charge of administration in 2011,the state was  a no go area in terms of infrastructures and good road networks.
    His words," The amount of changes I have seen made me to say, there is hope in Nigeria. This command used to be, I don't want to go into that so that press will not have much to say.
    But, it was in terms of infrastructure,in terms of building,facilities,and other things.
    

The IGP charged the men of the police force to remain apolitical, dedicated,committed  and exhibit high sense of  professionalism as Nigerians approach the 2023 general elections, emphasizing that the police has a great role to play in ensuring free and fair elections.
    He further charged the officers of the police to redouble their efforts towards protecting INEC offices,both in the state and local government areas,as criminal elements have deviced a way of attacking or setting ablaze INEC offices even with dynamite,advising that INEC offices or materials should be relocated to safer places.
   The IGP assured that his administration will continue to place high priority on the welfare of the police,stressing that he is not indepted to any body that should be promoted,and he has not been promoted.
     On manpower,the police IG said,"we have graduated 10,000 policemen from the training schools and passed them out to their local government areas.
 

 "Next week,we are also graduating another 10,000 policemen,and everybody will go back to his local government areas,because,we or I believe that policing can better be done by those who know the area very well".
     Earlier,the state Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Garba,had thanked the IGP for the visit and noted that it has greatly boosted the morale of its personnel in the state,assuring that the police in Ebonyi state will redouble their efforts in securing lives and properties of the people.
    The Police IG was on 22nd of December,2022,confered with merit award of commander,Ebony Hall of Fame by the Ebonyi state government,alongside other prominent Nigerians,including,the former military Head of state,late General Sani Abacha,and Good luck Jonathan,the immediate past president of Nigeria.

EKA-AWOKE COMMUNITY QUALIFIES FOR WORLD BANK ASSISTED PROJECTS

By Ewa Nworie Eka-Awoke community in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state was among the 54 communities qualified for CSDA support under the NG-CARES programme,a world Bank Assisted project.    Members of the CSDA committee from Eka-Awoke,elected to carry out the implementation of their community project,joined colleagues from other communities to receive intensive training on how to handle the projects. The training which took place at Re-maretona hotel Andsuite,Abakaliki,was meant to empower the committees of benefiting communities with the prerequisite knowledge on how to carry out the world Bank Assited projects in their various communities in line with the world Bank approved standard The training which was seen as quite impactful and result oriented,as members of the committees were seen answering questions correctly from the resource persons,kept the committees abreast of what they should know about the management of Agency's fund.

NDUFU IKWO DC COORDINATOR,DR.EJEM CHARGES NEW MGT CTTEE MEMBERS TO WORK HARD
