Ebonyi: MAGT CTTEE MEMBERS URGED TO DEVELOP GOOD WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH DC CO ORDINATORS AND THE MASSES

The Commissioner for local  government and chieftaincy matters in Ebonyi state,chief Uchenna Igwe has called on the management committee members of the Development Centres to develop a good working relationship with their co ordinators and the masses.
 The Commissioner who gave the charge during a meeting he held with the management committee members of the 64 Development centres in the state,told the management committee members that,they should always hold a meeting at least,once in a month with their co ordinators to  discuss projects that would be carried out in their development centres.
   His words," you people should be having meetings at least once in a month with your co ordinators to put heads together to know the investments to move your Development centre  forward.
 "Whatever thing they are doing, whatever infrastructure they want to put on ground,it must be in agreement with you people. He will introduce what he wants to do for the people and you will make your contributions. At the end pf the day,you must have F&G meetings.
 "You should have a good working relationship with the masses.
Some of you when you  receive your money and the one your co ordinator will give you,(shouts,they don't give). 
What I mean is, if they give you,give others. If they have not been giving you,they will start to give you from now
 "Another thing is,we will be having this meeting monthly to gather reports of what is happening in your Development centres. That is when we know whether they are carrying you along or not",
  Commissioner Igwe,who frowned at absenteesm during the meeting  called on the management committee members to always respect the co ordinators who are their boss so as to get the best from them.
   "If you respect your Co ordinators,you are respecting the local government chairman,you are respecting the commissioner for local government,you are respecting the governor.
"Remember,don't forget,the Co ordinators are your boss,I repeat,they are your boss.You need to develop a cordial relationship with your boss,the commissioner stressed.

EKA-AWOKE COMMUNITY QUALIFIES FOR WORLD BANK ASSISTED PROJECTS

By Ewa Nworie Eka-Awoke community in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state was among the 54 communities qualified for CSDA support under the NG-CARES programme,a world Bank Assisted project.    Members of the CSDA committee from Eka-Awoke,elected to carry out the implementation of their community project,joined colleagues from other communities to receive intensive training on how to handle the projects. The training which took place at Re-maretona hotel Andsuite,Abakaliki,was meant to empower the committees of benefiting communities with the prerequisite knowledge on how to carry out the world Bank Assited projects in their various communities in line with the world Bank approved standard The training which was seen as quite impactful and result oriented,as members of the committees were seen answering questions correctly from the resource persons,kept the committees abreast of what they should know about the management of Agency's fund.
