STATE RURAL ELECTRIFICATION BOARD VISITS IKWO LGA, SEEKS EBONYI RELIABLE RURAL ELECTRIFICATION NETWORKING

Godwin Nwankwo, on 28th August 2024 visited  Ikwo Local Government Area to interact with Stakeholders on how best to achieve the Governor's mandate in areas of rural electrification.The delegation was warmly received by the Vice Chairman of the Ikwo LGA, Hon. Ebonyi State governor,Rt Hon  Ogbonna Nwifuru has charged Local Government Chairmen and Coordinators of Development Centres to embark on projects that will have direct bearing on the people  He made the call during a Church Service at the Government House Chapel Abakaliki.     In a statement issued to newsmen by the chief press secretary to the governor,Dr Monday Uzor,the governor charged the council chairmen and coordinators of development centres to make good use of the Allocations released to them monthly to embark on meaningful projects that will better the lives of people in the rural communities.      Governor Nwifuru,further charged the chairmen and coordinators to always go home to have followers and work for the people. EKA-AWOKE COMMUNITY QUALIFIES FOR WORLD BANK ASSISTED PROJECTS

By Ewa Nworie Eka-Awoke community in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state was among the 54 communities qualified for CSDA support under the NG-CARES programme,a world Bank Assisted project.    Members of the CSDA committee from Eka-Awoke,elected to carry out the implementation of their community project,joined colleagues from other communities to receive intensive training on how to handle the projects. The training which took place at Re-maretona hotel Andsuite,Abakaliki,was meant to empower the committees of benefiting communities with the prerequisite knowledge on how to carry out the world Bank Assited projects in their various communities in line with the world Bank approved standard The training which was seen as quite impactful and result oriented,as members of the committees were seen answering questions correctly from the resource persons,kept the committees abreast of what they should know about the management of Agency's fund.
