GOV. NWIFURU IDENTIFIES SEXUAL IMMORALITY AS ONE OF THE CHALLENGES CONFRONTING THE CHURCH

Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi state has described immorality as one of the greatest challenges confronting the church. 
   He stated this when cathedral Catholic administrator and councillors of St.Theresa  Catholic church,Abakaliki,led by Rv.Father Livinus Nweke paid him a courtesy call in his office,at government House,Abakaliki. 
   Governor Nwifuru who was not happy with the attitude of some Christian faithful,especially,married women and girls working in God's vineyard or Parish who try to lure clergy men or Catholic priest into committing sexual immorality,while pretending to carry out domestic work for priests in the church,however, commended Catholic priests of Abakaliki Diocese for their positive contributions,steadfastness and dedication to the work of God.
  He charged Christian faithful to be well disciplined in characters and actions so as to bring other souls to Christ.
"The church is undergoing serious challenges. And these  challenges are caused by us,the congregation. Because,I dont see any reason you who is a married woman or a girl will leave your house and dash into Father's house. What are you looking for? What is your business in Fathers house?
   "If you finish the church work,what are you doing in the parish as a married woman. Why do you take broom and say you want to go and sweep Father's house. Is it your work,who are you tempting. 
  "You may think you are tempting Rev.Fathers,you are tempting God who created you,because,Father did not select you to come and work for him,but,satan selected you to go and destroy the work of God,and you think you are smart,right,and you think you are making friend with human beings.
"Some of you who are here may go and say,I want my daughter to go and live with Reverend father,for what?  What will the Referend Father be teaching your daughter? 
Because you are looking a way to destroy our church".
 Governor Nwifuru,however,thanked the Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese,Bishop Peter Nworie CHUKWU,for the support of the Catholic community to his administration
 Earlier,the leader of the team,Rev.Livinus Nweke,said,they had come to thank governor Ogbonna Nwifuru for the supports,he has been giving to the church since assumption of office,which they,said,among others,include,donation of 5 brand new Jeep,to the 5 newly ordained priests of the Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki,during the ordination ceremony.
   They also thanked governor Ogbonna Nwifuru,for performing the ground breaking ceremony of six thousand capacity new cathedral building,that took place at Ochudo Centenary city,and equally commended governor Nwifuru for attending the Golden jubilee of  the Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki,held  at st.Theresa Catholic church,few days ago.

EKA-AWOKE COMMUNITY QUALIFIES FOR WORLD BANK ASSISTED PROJECTS

By Ewa Nworie Eka-Awoke community in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state was among the 54 communities qualified for CSDA support under the NG-CARES programme,a world Bank Assisted project.    Members of the CSDA committee from Eka-Awoke,elected to carry out the implementation of their community project,joined colleagues from other communities to receive intensive training on how to handle the projects. The training which took place at Re-maretona hotel Andsuite,Abakaliki,was meant to empower the committees of benefiting communities with the prerequisite knowledge on how to carry out the world Bank Assited projects in their various communities in line with the world Bank approved standard The training which was seen as quite impactful and result oriented,as members of the committees were seen answering questions correctly from the resource persons,kept the committees abreast of what they should know about the management of Agency's fund.

NDUFU IKWO DC COORDINATOR,DR.EJEM CHARGES NEW MGT CTTEE MEMBERS TO WORK HARD
