Tribunal strikes out Odo's(APGA) case Against Nwifuru

Ebonyi State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja has struck out the petition filed by Prof. Benard Odoh of the All Progressives Grand Alliance against Governor Francis Nwifuru’s election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Nwifuru of the All Progressives Congress winner of the March 2023 governorship election in the state.

But Odoh, in his petition, contended that Nwifuru was illegally nominated by the APC because he was still a member of the People’s Democratic Party as a Speaker of the House of Assembly when the APC nominated him.

But in its judgment on Wednesday, the three-man panel held that the governor indeed defected to the APC before declaring for the governorship poll.

The tribunal held that APGA failed to appeal a Federal High Court Judgment which confirmed the governor’s defection.

5 PERSONS DIE AS CHOLERA OUTBREAK RAVAGE ETTAM, OKPUITUMO, IKWO LGA

             Dr Moses Ekuma Five(5) persons have been reported dead,following a cholera outbreak at Ettam ward in Okpuitumo,Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state.   This was disclosed by a management committee member,Ndufu Ikwo Development centre,Hon Igberi Kingsley,whose Ettam ward was ravaged by the cholera outbreak.   According to Igberi Kingsley who is also a medical personnel,the incident began on 18th March,2025,and has since remained unabated with five lives already lost while about 23 victims have been rushed to Ettam Health centres on emergency situations.    Kingsley further stated that,20 victims have been treated and discharged while 3 are still at the health facility battling with their lives,stressing that more victims are being rushed to hospitals almost on daily bases.  The management committee member,however,commended the Executive chairman of Ikwo local government area,Barr.Sunday Nwankwo,for his prompt r...
