GOV OGBONA NWIFURU'S VICTORY AT THE TRIBUNAL,AS A CLEAR CONFIRMATION OF PEOPLE'S MANDATE

Image
For sure, the victory of governor Ogbonna Nwifuru at the tribunal is the confirmation of people's mandate.    My commendation goes to Ebonyi governorship election tribunal who stood firm in line with their noble legal profession to give undiluted judgement that further strengthened democracy in Nigeria.   This shows that judiciary is still the last hope of the common man.    Ebonyi people rolled out their drummes to celebrate the victory of governor Ogbonna Nwifuru.    It was victory for democracy,it was victory for all Ebonyians who voted massively for Ogbonna Nwifuru,it was victory for APC,the ruling Political Party in Nigeria, and it was victory for good governance.    I plead with those who want to reap where they did not sow to sheathe their sword and join hands with governor Ogbonna Nwifuru, the people's governor to develop the state.    Moving further to appeal the judgement of the tribunal,to me,is a waste of resources that should have been channeled toward us

Tribunal strikes out Odo's(APGA) case Against Nwifuru

Image
Ebonyi State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja has struck out the petition filed by Prof. Benard Odoh of the All Progressives Grand Alliance against Governor Francis Nwifuru’s election. The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Nwifuru of the All Progressives Congress winner of the March 2023 governorship election in the state. But Odoh, in his petition, contended that Nwifuru was illegally nominated by the APC because he was still a member of the People’s Democratic Party as a Speaker of the House of Assembly when the APC nominated him. But in its judgment on Wednesday, the three-man panel held that the governor indeed defected to the APC before declaring for the governorship poll. The tribunal held that APGA failed to appeal a Federal High Court Judgment which confirmed the governor’s defection.

The Urgent Need To Decongest Nigerian Prisons

Image
BY EWA NWORIE There is no doubt that In Nigeria, many factors has continued to constitute impediments to the growth and development of the country.    They include, socio economic downturn, insecurity, and of course, prison congestions in the nation's Correctional facilities, among others.     According to research,Lack of quick dispensation of Justice in the Nigerian judicial system has constituted a factor to the prison congestion in Nigerian.     It is important to point out that, the nation's correctional centres are today, nothing to write home about as poor facilities, obselete and dalipedated structures without enough space to house the prison inmates and awaiting trials, has become the order of the day,and this has also contributed to the prison congestions.    Again, there are cases of administrative bottlenecks in the release of suspects and prisoners granted bail by the court of competent juridictions, among others.     In the Correctional facilities Nationwide, it

GOV. NWIFURU'S GOOD BEGINNING,AS A TOAST FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE

By Ewa Nworie When I remember the wisdom, intellectual prowess of governor Ogbonna Nwifuru in piloting the affairs of the state,I become highly elated and happy that Ebonyi people has made the right choice.   It is highly commendable that governor Ogbonna Nwifuru through his people oriented adminstration, anchored on,"The People's Charter of Needs",has within the shortest possible time, rewritten the history of Ebonyi state, thereby, silencing the opposition elements and critics who were out during the 2023 general elections with all manners of dangerous rumous and unhealthy political campaigns to malign the God's given leader,Rt.Hon.Ogbonna Nwifuru.    For sure, the outcome of the 2023 general elections, fully disappointed the critics and oppositions as Nwifuru polled the highest number of votes cast across the 13 local government areas of the state, and was dully declared winner of the 2023 Ebonyi guber race by the Independent National Electorial Commission(I
