SOUTH EAST GOVERNORS FORUM RESOLVES TO DECESIVELY FIGHT INSECURITY IN THE REGION

South east governors forum on Thursday,the10th of August,2023,rose from their meeting held at lion building,government house,Enugu,to declare that,the perpetrators of insecurity and sponsors in the south east region are criminals,and upon arrest,should be treated as such.
    This was contained in a communique issued by the Forum after their meeting and read by the chairman,south east governors' forum,and governor of Imo state,senator Hope Uzodinma.
    The communique read in parts:
"Following the conclusion of the meeting of the south east governors' forum held today,10th August,2023,at Enugu state government house,the attendance were,senator Hope Uzodinma,governor of Imo state(chairman),Prof.Chukwuma Soludo,governor of Anambra state,Dr.Alex Otti,governor of Abia state,Rt.Hon.Francis Nwifuru,governor of Ebonyi state,Dr.Peter Mba,governor of Enugu state,our host.
   "The Forum firmly resolved to fight insecurity decesively in the region,individually and collectively in Partnership with the Federal government of Nigeria and other stakeholders. 
   "We commend the security agencies,their co operation and achievements so far and encourage them not to relent. 
  "We categorically state that,the perpetrators of insecurity and their sponsors in our region are criminals and should not be seen as legitimate agitators.         Therefore,upon arrest,they should be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the land. 
  "The Forum resolve to hold security and economic summit for south east region on the date to be announced soon.
   "That represents the long hours of meeting,thank you".

EKA-AWOKE COMMUNITY QUALIFIES FOR WORLD BANK ASSISTED PROJECTS

By Ewa Nworie Eka-Awoke community in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state was among the 54 communities qualified for CSDA support under the NG-CARES programme,a world Bank Assisted project.    Members of the CSDA committee from Eka-Awoke,elected to carry out the implementation of their community project,joined colleagues from other communities to receive intensive training on how to handle the projects. The training which took place at Re-maretona hotel Andsuite,Abakaliki,was meant to empower the committees of benefiting communities with the prerequisite knowledge on how to carry out the world Bank Assited projects in their various communities in line with the world Bank approved standard The training which was seen as quite impactful and result oriented,as members of the committees were seen answering questions correctly from the resource persons,kept the committees abreast of what they should know about the management of Agency's fund.

NDUFU IKWO DC COORDINATOR,DR.EJEM CHARGES NEW MGT CTTEE MEMBERS TO WORK HARD
