FIVE NEW CATHOLIC PRIESTS ORDAINED IN EBONYI

Five priests were on Saturday  July,8,2023 ordained in the Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki by the Bishop of the Diocese,Most Reverend Peter Nworie.
   The event which took place at saint Theresa Catholic Church Abakaliki,was witnessed by the governor of Ebonyi state,Rt.Hon.Ogbonna Nwifuru and top government functionaries,Catholic faithfuls, friends and well wishers.
   The five priests ordained,include,Rev. Fr.Williams Ogbonna,Rev.Fr.Lawrence Mbamini,Rev.Fr.Kingsley Nwokpuru,Rv.Fr.Onyia Chinedu,and Rv.Fr.Eze Fidelis.
Out of the five ordained priest,three were from Ebonyi state.
   Addressing the congregation,the governor of Ebonyi state,Rt.Hon.Ogbonna Nwifuru,thanked the Catholic Church for their prayers during the campaign which gave him victory and solicited for more prayers from the Catholic community.
  He charged the ordained priests to focus on their callings and remain steadfast,by guiding Christians alright towards seeking salvation from God,and commended them for their patients and dedication through out their training in the seminary school.
"I am very delighted being here this afternoon because a usual thing happened to our clan, I see unity, I see progress.
"It makes me very happy seeing our children trying to do
 things differently instead of doing it the very old way."
 Governor Nwifuru,pledged to assist the Diocese in building a befitting Catholic Church at Centenary City Abakaliki before he bows out as Governor of the State,after his tenure.
The Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese,Most Reverend Peter Chukwu thanked the governor for his support to the Church especially the donation of brand new vehicles to the newly ordained Priests.
   Bishop Nworie promised that the church,particularly the Catholic church was ready at any time to partner with government in a bid to improve the lives of people in the society.
One of the three newly ordained Reverend Fathers from Izhi, Reverend Father Williams Ogbonna in a remark,thanked Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru and all Catholic faithful for their prayers which culminated in their sucessful ordination and assured that they will not deviate from their callings and the foundation layed by God.
  Five new brand SUV vehicles were donated to the five newly ordained priest by governor Ogbonna Nwifuru.

EKA-AWOKE COMMUNITY QUALIFIES FOR WORLD BANK ASSISTED PROJECTS

By Ewa Nworie Eka-Awoke community in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state was among the 54 communities qualified for CSDA support under the NG-CARES programme,a world Bank Assisted project.    Members of the CSDA committee from Eka-Awoke,elected to carry out the implementation of their community project,joined colleagues from other communities to receive intensive training on how to handle the projects. The training which took place at Re-maretona hotel Andsuite,Abakaliki,was meant to empower the committees of benefiting communities with the prerequisite knowledge on how to carry out the world Bank Assited projects in their various communities in line with the world Bank approved standard The training which was seen as quite impactful and result oriented,as members of the committees were seen answering questions correctly from the resource persons,kept the committees abreast of what they should know about the management of Agency's fund.

NDUFU IKWO DC COORDINATOR,DR.EJEM CHARGES NEW MGT CTTEE MEMBERS TO WORK HARD
