EBONYI GOVT.SET TO EMPLOY 1,454 PERSONS INTO STATE CIVIL SERVICE -pay N10,000 addition to salaries of civil servants

Ebonyi state government is to employ 1,454 persons in the state civil service,approved N10,000 addition to salaries of every civil servants in the state.
    These forms major highlights in this week's state executive  council meeting held at EXCO Chambers,new government house,Abakaliki.
   Briefing journalists,on the outcome of the meeting,commissioner for Information and state Orientation,Engr.Jude  Chikadibia Okpor,said,this followed the approval by EXCO of the report from Head of service,Mrs Rita Okoro which gave a run down of the existing vacancies in the ministries,parastatals and other sectors.
   The Information commissioner,said,EXCO also deliberated on the issue of workers salary and approved N10,000 to be added to every worker,s salary across board,to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal.
   He said,EXCO further directed the Secretary to the state government,Professor Grace Umuezurike to look into the finances of Ebonyi state University with a view to determining an upward review of the monthly subvention by the state government.
   Other resolutions reached by EXCO,according to the commissioner for informatiom,include,the setting up of various committees to wade into crises rocking some parts of the state with view to bringing them to end.
   He said,such committees were seperately constituted to look into the Ezza Effium and Effium crises in Ohaukwu local government area,Isinkwo/Abaomege crises in Onicha local government area,Amana/Ikwo in Ezza south local government area among other areas that have crises in the state.
   The commissioner,said,EXCO,through the chairman,His Excellency,governor Ogbonna Nwifuru,gave a matching order to commissioner for water resources, Mr Chinedu Nkah to get water running in all the street of Abakaliki,before the next EXCO meeting.
    On agriculture,EXCO resolved to make the state fertilizer and chemical company take off production immediately to meet the needs of Ebonyi farmers and beyond.
   The Information boss,Engr.Okpor further revealed that,the state executive council through a memo presented by the commissioner for health on Public Eye Health Committee,approved the setting up of the committee,while EXCO similarly considered a proposal for Ebonyi state school sports festival including governor's cup competition,presented by commissioner for youths and sport development,chief Richard Idike.
   On the status of Waste pulverisation plant at Umuoghara,Ezza North,a report from commissioner for environment,chief Victor Chukwu,EXCO approved the expansion of the plant,to accommodate a recycling plant to explore ways of benefiting from the Waste-to-Wealth potential of the recycling plant,the information boss,added.
