AIG LAUDS NWIFURU FOR ASSISTING POLICE TO FIGHT CRIME

The Assistant Inspector General of police,Zone 9,Echeng Echeng has commended the governor of Ebonyi state, Rt. Hon.Ogbonna Nwifuru for his support to the police to fight crime. 
   The AIG, gave the commendation when he paid a courtesy call to the governor on Tuesday as part of his farmilarisation tour to the states under his command.
   The Assistant Inspector General of police who said, he also came to felicitate with the governor of Ebonyi state for his resounding victory at the polls during the last concluded general elections,acknowledged that Ebonyi state as part of the states in the south east,has it's own peculiar problem in terms of insurgence,which he said,his zonal command is out to fight,stressing that as AIG,he believed that the problem is not insumountable,hence,his full determination to tackle the challenge.

The AIG,who noted that Ebonyi state was the most peaceful state in the south east, commended the commissioner of Police Ebonyi state command,Mrs Augustina Ogbodo for being very proactive,which,according to him was made possible by the support of governor Ogbonna Nwifuru to the police.
    AIG Echeng,called on the general public to always offer police the needed helps to fight crime stressing that the issue of security was the business of all. 
   The AIG,however,solicited for more assistance from the state government in the area of logistics,welfare and talking to people on the need to be part of the fight,assuring that,the police at all times remains highly committed to fight crimes,particularly in Ebonyi state.
 Responding,the Ebonyi state governor,Rt. Hon.Ogbonna Nwifuru,noted that the problem of insecurity in the south east was man made,but,thanked the police for their proactivness in tackling the menace,which he said,include,insurgency,kidnapping,robbery,among others.
   Governor Nwifuru,thanked the AIG zone 9,Echeng Echeng for his efforts in combating crime in the zone,and also thanked the commissioner of Police,Ebonyi state command,Mrs Augustina Ogbodo,for putting all necessary measures that have helped to reduce crime in the state,stressing that there is no other security agency that is more effective in combating crime than the police.
 His words,"There is no other security agency that is effective as police. Here in Ebonyi,for example,she is a woman,I mean commissioner of police,but,she has put everything right and no body is complaining of anything here.         "There is no way any body will get up and say she is not performing,how? And he gives every body what is due for them,(rank and file),and they are happy."
  Governor Nwifuru,who pleaded with the high ranking officers in the police force,to always carry the junior ranks along in terms of welfare without saying,"wait for your turn," assured the police of the maximum co operation of his administration to combat crime in the state.
  The police Zone 9 is made up of Ebonyi,Aba and Imo states.

EKA-AWOKE COMMUNITY QUALIFIES FOR WORLD BANK ASSISTED PROJECTS

By Ewa Nworie Eka-Awoke community in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state was among the 54 communities qualified for CSDA support under the NG-CARES programme,a world Bank Assisted project.    Members of the CSDA committee from Eka-Awoke,elected to carry out the implementation of their community project,joined colleagues from other communities to receive intensive training on how to handle the projects. The training which took place at Re-maretona hotel Andsuite,Abakaliki,was meant to empower the committees of benefiting communities with the prerequisite knowledge on how to carry out the world Bank Assited projects in their various communities in line with the world Bank approved standard The training which was seen as quite impactful and result oriented,as members of the committees were seen answering questions correctly from the resource persons,kept the committees abreast of what they should know about the management of Agency's fund.

NDUFU IKWO DC COORDINATOR,DR.EJEM CHARGES NEW MGT CTTEE MEMBERS TO WORK HARD
