IKWO AS A POLITICAL LANDSCAPE FOR ELECTORAL VICTORY

Ikwo local government area is the largest and most populous local government area in Ebonyi state.
    Ikwo is made up of five principal autonomous communities,namely, Unweke, Alike, Echara,Mgbabo, Okpuitumo.
    It has twenty two INEC wards,in consonance with it's large population of about 1,000,000(one million) people.
   Ikwo local government is not taken for granted  or a push over in the area of politics,hence,has produced notable politicians that has held various top political positions in the state,Nigeria,and beyond,even as ambassadors
 In Ebonyi state,Ikwo people must be consulted if victory must be ensured in any political contests,especially,as it concerns governorship and senatorial positions.
    The people of Ikwo are very hospitable,industrious,peace loving,intelligent,and born leaders.
    These unique features made Ikwo local government to consecutively produce governor in the name of Chief Martin Nwancho Elechi,and deputy governor,Dr.Eric Kelechi Igwe,respectively.
Other prominent politicians,include,Chief Nweke Anyigor of blessed memory,Ambassador Lawrence Nwuruku,former minister of state for commence and industry,Ambassador Frank Nchita Ogbewu,former minister of culture and tourism,Barr.Okeagu Ogada,former Attorney General and commissioner for justice,Distinguished senator Emmanuel Onwe,who represented 
Ebonyi central zone,Chief Clement Nweke,now commissioner and former House of Assembly member,Comrade Chinedu Ogah,OON,representing Ikwo/Ezza federal constituency,Elder Steven Orogwu,former Ikwo local govt chairman,Barr.Sunday  Nwankwo,current Ikwo local government chairman,among others,very numerous to mention.
   Ikwo people are known for their uprightness in taking political decision and other decisions that could promote the cultural values of the people.
At present,the people of Ikwo have endorsed chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru(OFN),the APC gubernatoral candidate from Ebonyi North zone,Izzi clan to be precise.
   They believe that it is the turn of Izzi Nnodo this time arround to produce the next governor of Ebonyi sate,and chief Ogbonna Nwifuru remains their choice.
Just last week,Wednesday,governor David Umahi with stakeholders of Ebonyi project,stormed Ikwo local government area,Onuebonyi Echara,to further strengthen the  believes of Ikwo people on the candidature of Ogbonna Nwifuru by assuring them of Nwifuru's quality leadership if voted into power as the next governor of Ebonyi state 
  Umahi thanked the people of Ikwo Noyo for rescuing the state with their votes,during the last concluded Presidential/National Assembly elections,which saw Comrade Chinedu Ogah,OON and chief Ken Eze successful.
   
 Earlier,the chairman of Ikwo local government area,Barr.Sunday Nwankwo,had assured governor Umahi,that Ikwo people were solidly behind Ogbonna Nwifuru,and will vote massively to ensure his victory.
   It will be recalled that Ikwo votes rescued Ken Eze of Ezza nation from being defeated after loosing in his own local government area,Ezza south and Ezza North,respectively.

EKA-AWOKE COMMUNITY QUALIFIES FOR WORLD BANK ASSISTED PROJECTS

By Ewa Nworie Eka-Awoke community in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state was among the 54 communities qualified for CSDA support under the NG-CARES programme,a world Bank Assisted project.    Members of the CSDA committee from Eka-Awoke,elected to carry out the implementation of their community project,joined colleagues from other communities to receive intensive training on how to handle the projects. The training which took place at Re-maretona hotel Andsuite,Abakaliki,was meant to empower the committees of benefiting communities with the prerequisite knowledge on how to carry out the world Bank Assited projects in their various communities in line with the world Bank approved standard The training which was seen as quite impactful and result oriented,as members of the committees were seen answering questions correctly from the resource persons,kept the committees abreast of what they should know about the management of Agency's fund.

NDUFU IKWO DC COORDINATOR,DR.EJEM CHARGES NEW MGT CTTEE MEMBERS TO WORK HARD

The coordinator of Ndufu Ikwo Development centre,Dr Ernest Ndidi Ejem has called on the newly appointed management committee members to work very hard to justify the appointments given to them by governor Ogbonna Nwifuru.  The coordinator gave the charge during his maiden meeting with the management committee members of Ndufu Ikwo Development centre,held at Egunkwo,the headquarters of the development centre.   Addressing the management committee members,the coordinator, Dr.Ejem who took time out to enumerate projects executed by his administration and how he has been piloting the affairs of the Development centre since assumption of office,told the management committee members,that they were appointed basically to assist coordinators in the effective running of development centres to step down governance to the rural people,and urged the management committee members to owe gratitudes to governor Ogbonna Nwifuru who  gave them the opportunity to serve.  The coordinator furth
