CHIEF OGBONNA NWIFURU AS THE NEXT GOVERNOR OF EBONYI STATE
Chief Nwifuru,the APC gubernatorial candidate,and the anointed son of governor David Umahi remains a candidate to beat in the forthcoming general elections,as he have comparative political advantage over other guber candidates in the state.
Although,some opposition elements,out of mere envy and jealousness,have developed hunchback against Nwifuru's popularity to clinch the exalted position. But,the truth remains that when God says yes,no body can say no.
My reason for being very optimistic on Nwifuru's victory at the polls,come March 11th,2023 gubernatoral election,is stem from the reasons mashalled out below;
First is the fact that APC is a ruling Party in Ebonyi state,which by all intents and purposes have overiding interests of political office holders,elected council executives,councillors,supervisory councillors and stakeholders of Ebonyi projects,down to the grassroots.
In other words,Nwifuru's popularity and governor Umahi's political wizardry will be brought to bear. Yes,when it comes to Party politics,governor David Umahi is an enigma and Iroko tree that cannot be overwhelmed. As political guru,he deploys his solid wide experience and wisdom to score political goals at any given moment.
Another major reason for Nwifuru's anticipated victory at the polls is the zoning that have favoured him,having come from Ebonyi North zone,Izzi NNODO to be precise where the governorship position was zoned.
Nwifuru,has been a good player who grew under the tutelage of governor David Umahi,the political Iroko tree,and have been tested and trusted,having held the position as speaker,Ebonyi state house of Assembly for eight years running without qualms. His ability to maintain peace among House of Assembly members,made up of different political Parties without quarells is a clout on his political metamorphosis.
Umuekumenyi the major political block in Ebonyi state has totally given their solid consent and tacit supports to the candidature of Nwifuru,in line with the zoning of the governorship to Ebonyi North.
Just few weeks ago,chief Ogbonna Nwifuru was given the Royal traditional blessing by the people of Umuekumenyi,which comprises,the traditional rulers,the OZOs and the youths alongside elders at the ancestral home of the eldest son of Umuekumenyi,EZZA Ezekunna,at OKPOKO Ezekunna cultural centre to be precise.
It is of popular opinion that Izzi people are not divided against the candidature of Ogbonna Nwifuru,even though they have other four gubernatoral candidates from four different political Parties,like,Edward Ngwegu of labour party,prophet Adol Awam of NNPP, Chukwuma Nwandugo of Action Alliance,Engr.Sunday Opoke of YPP.
I think it is just a case of not putting their eggs in one basket.
They will surely collapse the different political structures to come together at the most appropriate time to support chief Nwifuru,the APC Guber candidate, if truly Izzi people want the next governorship position.
If they don't, it will not even stop Nwifuru from winning Izzi votes because,they say majority carries the vote. And good a thing,as the issues of kindred dichotomy that had in the past,polarised Izzi people,has since been buried.
Similarly,in Ebonyi south political block,which comprises,Afikpo North, Afikpo south, Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo, Nwifuru stand tall to defeat other candidates with simple majority of votes,because,other political Parties are not in anyway in control of political environment to outsmart Nwifuru. Women folk is solidly with chief Ogbonna Nwifuru who has a woman by name princess Patrica Obila from Afikpo North as his running mate.
Nwifuru has rolled out his manifestos,titled,"the people's Charter of needs,divine mandate consolidation and continuity" which political observers and analysts view as very encompassing.
