EBONYI: Gov Nwifuru distributes N2,055b to 100 communities

Ebonyi State governor,Chief Ogbonna Nwifuru, has reiterated the preparedness of his administration to bring all round development to various Communities in the State,under the  People's Charter of Needs mantra of his administration.   
     Governor Nwifuru stated this at Re-Meritona Hotel and Suites Abakaliki,during the Statewide Micro Project Launch/Fund Disbursement of #2.055b to 100 Qualified Communities and 2,040 Labour Intensive Public Workfare Beneficiaries,Under the World Bank-Assisted NG-CARES Programmes. 
  The Governor, who was represented by the Speaker,Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Odunwa said,the programme was one of the manifestations of the People's Charter of Needs,and enjoined the beneficiaries, to judiciously utilise the funds.
"The intended achievement is that development will be simultaneous in all the captured 100 communities ."
"Imagine a situation we have 100  projects going on in 100 communities at the same time!
What is greater than that in the development of the State?"
  "Let them continue to use it judiciously to cushion the effects of the economic mishap in the country"
  Earlier, the General Manager of Ebonyi State Community and Social Development Agency, Mr James Iro,had disclosed that the State Governor,Chief Ogbonna Nwifuru, had distributed 310 million naira to 31 qualified communities on October last year, and thanked him for his support and developmental strive,and pledged the continuous loyalty of the agency.
 "Your Excellency, today marks another milestone in the activities of Ebonyi State Community and Social Development Agency. Last year, precisely October, 2023, you performed a similar exercise here, where you personally disbursed funds in the amount of 310 million naira to 31 qualified communities, across the 13 Local Government Areas in Ebonyi State. Today, His Excellency is flagging off the disbursement of 2 billion, and fifty-five million naira (#2.055b) to the 100 qualified communities and 2,040 labour intensive public workfare beneficiaries."
"The management and staff of the agency, therefore wish to thank the Governor for his continued support to our operations in the State. We equally pledge our continues loyalty to Onwa Ebonyi, Onwa Oferekpe, the man of the people."
   In her remark, the State Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring, Mrs Ann Aligwe, said that the programme was aimed at  the grassroots and the vulnerable people. She thanked the State Governor for the kind gesture, especially for increasing the funds, and as well as the number of beneficiaries.
  "His Excellency approved for us to touch 100 communities,and also increased the amount that will be given to the communities; instead of 10 million naira each that was given last year, His Excellency is now giving each community the sum of 12.5 million naira."
There were goodwill messages from the State Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development,Dr Leonard Uguru,the Immediate Past General Manager of Ebonyi State Community and Social Development Agency,Dr Peter Mbam,and Member representing Ebonyi North West Constituency of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon.Barr Nwodo Aloysius.
    Highlight was the presentation of dummy cheques of 12.5 million naira to each of the 100 qualified communities, and 180 thousand naira to each ot the 2,040 labour intensive public workfare beneficiaries.
