EKA-AWOKE AUTONOMOUS COMMUNITY,NOW HAVE A WORKING CONSTITUTION TO DRIVE HOME,DEVELOPMENT

Constitution to run the affairs of Eka- Awoke autonomous community,in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state,has been adopted by the people of the community. 
  The event which took place at community primary school,Onuafiukwa.Eka-Awoke,attracted large turn out of people from the five villages that make up the communuty.
 The chairman of the constitution drafting committee,Dr.Irem Collins who handed over the copies of the constitution to Eka-Awoke through the councillor,representing Eka-Awoke Ward,Hon.Clifford Igboji,thanked the people of Eka-Awoke for giving them the chance to serve.
He said,"we have done the assignment given to us to the best of our ability,and we hereby present copies of the new constitution to Eka-Awoke autonomous community".
   The creme de la creme of Eka -Awoke stakeholders who were present at the event were seen wearing smiling faces.
  One of them who pleaded anonymity had explained that,the issue of no constitution since the creation of Eka-Awoke autonomous community attributed to poor performance of the past executives of Eka-Awoke Development Union executives,has been put to rest,as he expressed optimism that,the incoming executives will do their work well.
The constitution,which went through third reading before finally adopted,has as major highlight,the changing of the name,Eka-Awoke Development Union(EDU),to Eka-Awoke Community Development Union (ECDU).
   However,some stakeholders who spoke,during the event,including,chief Oliver Eze,Prof.Joseph Afiukwa,chief Lawrence Nweke,chief Steven Igwe and chief Victor Omeh,expressed delight over the new development,and commended the councillor,representing Eka-Awoke Ward,Honourable Clifford Igboji,for being alive to his duties. 
  They expressed optimism that,Eka-Awoke autonomous community will henceforth be properly organised to address it's developmental agenda to make the community better.
Others who spoke,include,the chairmen of the five villages of Eka-Awoke,who took turn to commend the initiative as midwifed by the stakeholders to further promote peace and development in the community.
  Earlier,the councillor,representing Eka- Awoke ward,Hon.Clifford Igboji,had expressed deep gratitude to the stakeholders of Eka-Awoke,for actually making out time to attend meetings which spearheaded the lofty idea,stressing that he was particularly happy that it happened in his own time,but,called on the people,to reciprocate the gesture by remaining fully committed to the course of peace and progress of the community.
 Meanwhile,the electoral committee set up to conduct the election of Eka-Awoke community  Development Union,has slated 9th of December,2023,for the election.
   The chairman of the electoral body,chief Ramond Obasey,while briefing the people of Eka-Awoke on the preparedness of the electoral body to ensure free and fair election,assured the people of Eka-Awoke that,his electoral committee will conduct the most peaceful,free and fair election in the community.
According to the electoral chairman,the screening of the candidates from the five villages that make up Eka-Awoke community must be conducted before the election commences.and charged the village chairmen to do their own part by ensuring that,only the credible candidates are allowed to stand the election.
