EBONYI APC GUBER CANDIDATE,CHIEF NWIFURU,THREE OTHERS ESCAPE DEATH

The All progressive Congress(APC) gubernatoral candidate for Ebonyi state, chief Ogbonna Nwifuru,on Friday,narrowly escaped death as a Truck rammed into his convoy,while returning from the Grand finale of APC local governments campaign rallies,held at Uburu,Ohaozara local government area.
    The accident which occured along Abakaliki/Afikpo road,close to timber shade,smashed the SUV armor Jeep of chief Nwifuru. 
   Sitting with Nwifuru in the vehicle were the APC state chairman,chief Stanley Okoro Emegha,the former minister of culture and tourism,chief Nchita Ogbewu,and of course,the driver of chief Nwifuru whose name could not be immediately ascertained.
   The APC guber candidate,chief Nwifuru,and all the occupants of the SUV armorJeep,came out unhurt without any scratch,despite the fact that the vehicle was smashed beyond repair.
Reacting to the development, the Director-General of APC campaign Council,Ebonyi state,Mr. Austin Umahi told journalists shortly after the accident that the survival of Nwifuru was an act of God.
   His words,“Yes, there was an accident but the act of God was mightily demonstrated in the sense that we came on the divine mandate. This accident would have been avoided, but unfortunately, we don’t know whether the truck driver was drunk or not.
   “I personally narrowly escaped the accident and the next car was our gubernatorial candidate, Nwifuru. The truck driver just crossed the road and the next thing was to put them inside the bush. It is unfortunate but we thank God for everything because our candidate survived."

EKA-AWOKE COMMUNITY QUALIFIES FOR WORLD BANK ASSISTED PROJECTS

By Ewa Nworie Eka-Awoke community in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state was among the 54 communities qualified for CSDA support under the NG-CARES programme,a world Bank Assisted project.    Members of the CSDA committee from Eka-Awoke,elected to carry out the implementation of their community project,joined colleagues from other communities to receive intensive training on how to handle the projects. The training which took place at Re-maretona hotel Andsuite,Abakaliki,was meant to empower the committees of benefiting communities with the prerequisite knowledge on how to carry out the world Bank Assited projects in their various communities in line with the world Bank approved standard The training which was seen as quite impactful and result oriented,as members of the committees were seen answering questions correctly from the resource persons,kept the committees abreast of what they should know about the management of Agency's fund.
